The Dandy is 500 today!
Not years, you understand, though sometimes it can feel that way, but posts.
Who knew?
Certainly not I, until yesterday when the number 499 loomed as I popped up the poll for today’s perfume.
So that means 117 Hit Parades, nearly as many scents of the day, interviews, selections, musings, photographs galore and by my reckoning over 130 scented letters too… yes all adding up to a great quincentennial.
By way of celebration today’s perfumed picked by your fair hands will be subject to an especially speedy epistle and the scented letter will be with you tomorrow!
How’s that for super fast service?!?
But what will it be…? That news to follow soon.
In the meantime I may just pop a cork or two…

I might have known you’d be a stickler for statistics! It was the the number 499 appearing on WordPress that prompted the impromptu celebration… and besides I think that photo essays, interviews and selections should count top.

Great milestone Mr Dandy but I will wait until 14 February to congratulate you properly on an entire year’s output instead of this fluffy duffy ‘almost a year but not quite’ interim milestone. You confused me! Lol with Undina.
Now, having jovially and with some jocularity, said that, I have checked my own posting abilities and find only 205 posts (and a further 235 drafts; let’s call those concepts or even just post titles!). Congratulations on being 500, you only look 499! I jest of course. Your blog is a unique hub in the fragrant firmament and your gracious manners refresh the soul, harking back to simpler times. I will always be grateful for the interest you have shown in my musings, and your kind encouragement. In fact, you gave me some wriggle room to make my blog last longer by creating the “1001 scents” idea when I’d completed a year. Having your acquaintance “instructs delightfully” to paraphrase Alexander Pope.
