My Faithfulls
I am affeard I have been much neglectful of you these last few days.
But did you ever just have one of those weeks!?!
A semaine when the world makes it its business to put its business upon you.
Honestly I could be France’s First Lady for the exhaustion I feel.
Indeed, like our friend here, I have a sense of being in my late seventy something-th year!
You have my sincerest apologies for not having kept in touch, my correspondence has been so woefully out of date… not a single scented letter has been your way since Monday…
After all though, tomorrow is another day and I will set things right with the results of this week’s poll, then a weekend forum will follow and an all new scented letter come Monday to mark the start of what I hope will be a much more appealing set of seven days.
In the meantime….
What scent should I wear to unwind?
Any ideas my dears?
Yours ever
The Perfumed Dandy.
Here’s to Friday, Mr. Dandy (raising glass), and a well deserved good weekend to you. Houbigant Chantilly is my favorite scent to unwind in. For you, I recommend a nice bath with Royal Bain de Caron (or is it Champagne de Caron?), and then…whatever strikes your fancy. A cozy robe, a good book, some nice music.
Dearest Lily
I have drawn a bath (does anyone apart from The Dandy say that any more) and nearly a ladle full of Royal Bain has gone in!
Chantilly is such a lovely idea, and it is so precious for I have only my antique miniature remaining… it would feel like a lovely treat, which is just what I need!
My paisley robe is at the ready and I shall now turn my mind to music…
Have a wonderful Friday you.
Yours ever

Sounds lovely! xo
It’s all that dancing to Blondie Sir Dandy!
I couldn’t put it better than Lillybelle – bathing in Royal Bain de Caron, music definitely. When I want to relax I make my bedroom into a shrine of peace and beauty with flowers, perfumed air and candles, also possibly an interesting, yet not completely gripping, book? Oh and if I feel weary I like to do a sort of ritual of gratitude last thing at night – thinking of all the people and things I’m grateful for. I find it does something very peaceful to the mind.
Wishing you a peaceful and restorative weekend dear Dandy!
Dearest Rose
The deed is done, the Royal Bain is drawn!
I’ll set about some candles now as my work at the keyboard is done and then an oil burner with a special treat… some mixtures from Angela Flanders!
And yes, a very good idea, I have a great deal in this world to be grateful for so a little time reminding my Dandy-self of that would not go amiss!
Have a truly splendid weekend.
Yours ever
The Perfumed Dandy
May I suggest Comme des Garçons Avignon and a comfy bed…
Dearest Cheryl
Fortunately The Dandy’s bed is an oasis of comfort…. and incense on the body, now that;s not a bad idea at all!
Thank you all for such kind suggestions I’m off now for my my right royal dip.
Have a lovely weekend.
Yours ever
The Perfumed Dandy
I am most definitely with you on this having been a decidedly irksome week. Hurrah for the weekend!
Dearest Ms Lovett
Yes. The weekend. And lovely it was.
Fully restored I feel back on the metaphorical road and raring to go and trust you are too.
Yours ever

Mr. Dandy,
I’m noticing the time on my end in San Francisco and know the bath you’ve drawn is long over. You’ve probably extinguished those candles and put your lovely paisley robe to the side to put on again in the morning. Alas, I’d suggest as I would for myself your oldest, dearest scent which should take you back and comfort you. One of my earliest was Le De Givenchy. Here’s to Lily, Rose & Cheryl’s recommendations as well.
As ever,
Mary E.
Dearest Mary
By the time I’ve got round to replying I’ve had a both, a good sleep and a weekend away, which was the perfect tonic after a week like last!
Today has already proved both more fruitful and relaxed so I am a happy Dandy already.
Yours ever
The Perfumed Dandy
It seems you have a wonderful plan already, my dear, from the bath to the paisley gown with the music and a bedroom turned into a soothing, fragrant sanctuary. I hope you recuperate soon. I’ve had weeks like yours, and they are utterly draining. I personally would have recommended a different fragrance for you: the enervating, fizzy indulgence of Champagne. The perfume kind, not the drink. I would rather suggest a good Laphraoig for the latter. 😉 🙂
I second Laphraoig 😉
Dearest U
And so it proved… topping it off with a weekend away, albeit to a rather industrial city, rather helped too!

Peaty and perfect.
Yes, indeed.

Yes, Something enervating, like champagne… perhaps I will don some this week now that I am in such better spirits and buoyed up by a weekend away.
