Oh I do like to be beside the seaside…! The Perfumed Dandy’s Picture Postcards

Dear Sunseekers

I promised some of you a snap of some sandcastles… so here it is!

I’ve also popped in a few splendid scenes from the British seaside.

From the brilliant Brixham in Devon to be precise…

No scented suggestions from The Dandy on this occasion, but if you have any perfumed proposals, they would be most welcome.

Yours ever

Gorgeous photographs and is that your lovely hand??!! I am anxiously awaiting the pairings of perfumes to these photos!

    • Dearest Brie
Oooh. I have a little catching up to do with pairings… still working my way through those park snaps!!
But, you’re right, some of these pics are positively calling out for perfumed accompaniments.

  2. Lovely pictures, sir! An interesting change from the palm tree-filled, tropical beaches here. 🙂

    • Dearest Haef
Devon does have the occasional palm tree, but woodlands and bluebells are much more the order of the day, especially at this time of year.
I’m already craving a return visit!

What lovely photos. I’ve been pining for the seaside lately. That one titled “Into the Sea” could set me off on a reverie.

    • Dearest Lily
The sea did look devilishly inviting all weekend long, but at 9 degrees centigrade, the reality I fear would have been rather different!
A month or two though and that water should be ready to go… if still a little bracing.

My husband has some kind of formation, or deformity (or something) in his ear canals which indicate to doctors that he has been swimming in cold water – which he had regularly done in the Atlantic over the years. Relatively cold, that is. Not even he would venture in at 9 C. It must be almost bathwater before I’ll go in. I miss the seaside. Just to be there whatever the weather restores my spirits.

      • Dearest Lily
Being known to wildwater swim myself (though I am mainly a creature of ponds and pools), I know all to well of the many pitfalls of cold water!
Hope that deformity doesn’t keep your husband from joining you when the sea gets ‘almost bathwater’!
You are so right, just being beside the see had The Dandy beside himself with happiness.
        Yours ever

  4. Lovely pictures reminds me of my Eastbourne vacations, but I go for chocolate ice cream. I could easily spend an hour or two on that bench with a good book enjoying the salty breeze.

    • Dearest Cairo
      Of course, Eastbourne!
Brixham is much smaller and still has fishing as well as tourism to keep it going, but the British seaside is the British seaside: ice creams, fish and chips and lobster pink people who’ve not been careful enough in the sun!!

  5. Lovely! I am jealous of the day you had. 🙂

Gorgeous photos Sir Dandy! I particularly love ‘Water’ – beautiful turquoise. Wish I was there, looks a bit warmer than Scotland!

  7. I was gong to say, next time take me with you, but you already have. What a beautiful day. Thank you!

  8. My goodness it is so beautiful there! I had no idea the water would be so pristine and clear! The little houses are unbelievably charming! Someday I shall have to go! Thanks for the lovely pix! You are quite the photographer!

    • Dearest Rosa
Golly. Thank you so much for the compliment, though I suspect it’s the camera and not The Dandy that’s rather handy.
Brixham is beautiful, and my friends are such lucky folks to live there on days like this one was!
      Your ever

  9. “Into the Water” is my favorite picture as well. I’m not a water person but I need some ocean (warm!) at least once every couple of years.

    • Dear Undina
As tempting as this water looks, it was unfortunately freezing cold, so no dipping for The Dandy on this day!!
Maybe we will be treated to warmer weather later in the year and I will brave the waves…
I do think it’s a good thing to get a little saltwater fix now and again. Doo you have a favourite place to indulge in a bit of the beautiful briny?
      Yours ever
