Leave a calling card or contact The Perfumed Dandy

Starting this St Valentine's Day... a year long love letter from one man to the world of female fragrance

Of course Ladies and Gentlemen of quality know that the only way to make the acquaintance of a Dandy is to leave their card.

Things being what they are this day and age this can now be done much more swiftly than ever before, electronically even, for The Perfumed Dandy has an electronic mailbox no less.

Therefore all calling cards and correspondence may be addressed to

theperfumeddandy@gmail.com

Occasionally, The Perfumed Dandy can be found at one of his clubs:

So you are politely encouraged to make yourself known there too.

Some splendid types insist on supporting the services of Her Britannic Majesty’s Royal Mail.

If you are one of these eminent antiques, a postal address may be acquired upon application.

Be assured, whatever your chosen method of communication, The Perfumed Dandy guarantees a swift response to all those to whom he is ‘at home’.

I actually used to have Victorian style calling cards but then I moved and now I have hundreds of lovely rose covered bookmarks with my name on them….and to you, my eloquent friend, best wishes as always.
    Very Truly Yours, Rose

    • Why welcome dear Rose. How nice of you to drop in.
I adore the sound of your personalised bookmarks.
As an avid reader myself I am very fond of a bookmark. I do find that the lovely heavy card ones of yesteryear make rather splendid mouillettes (or perfume blotters as they are more commonly known).
It it one of may favourite afternoon pleasures to settle down with a cup of fine tea and a great book gently reassured by the scent of a fine perfume coming from a bookmark close at hand.
That reminds me, it’s almost time for tea here in London Town.
Today I feel Earl Grey may be best.
      Yours as ever

I’m a former art curator turned painter (mainly to get out of working in offices!) Perfume, literature and music often spark my painterly muse…

I so enjoy the Perfumed Dandy’s flights of imagination on the wings of fragrance, such a pleasure to read!

    • Dear Rose
Thank you for calling around at The Perfumed Dandy’s once again.
Yours joins some other splendid cards already left but is distinguished by having a number very excellent addresses on it itself.
Might I take the chance to recommend to all that they take a moment of their time to pay you a visit.
      Yours ever
      The Perfumed Dandy.

Dear Perfumed Dandy, I just wanted to compliment you once again on your lovely blog. I love reading your perfumed letters. They are so entertaining, and they inspire me to consider the fragrances I wear, to try to put into words the feelings and imagery they conjure up in my imagination. I am not nearly as eloquent but I am enjoying finding my own little stories in the fragrances I wear. Thank you for some of the most stimulating fragrance writing I’ve read in quite a while!
    Kind regards,
    Lilybelle

    Hello Sir
Well your perfumed letters are a treat to savour. Your descriptions of the scents exquisite, and the accompanying artwork adorable. You seem familiar though I cannot say where we might have met. Somewhere in the cyber-parlours of fragrance peut-etre. Thank you for your beautiful blog. More please! On the subject of women’s fragrances – I would love to know your opinion of Creed White Flowers.
    With admiration and affection
    Serafina.

    • Dear Serafina
Welcome, welcome to The Dandy’s parlour, nay salon.
How pleasant to make – or perhaps re-make – your acquaintance.
I do hope to be able to play host to you at my humble abode again.
As for your excellent suggestion, it is noted down in The Dandy’s ever handy and trusted ledger.
      Yours ever
      The Perfumed Dandy

How strange…last night I read a perfumed letter and today it is gone. Maybe it was a glitch, a mistake that has now been corrected, but it came right upon the heels of my watching Orlando again, this time on dvd (the film with Tilda Swinton) and I thought, “how fitting to a T!” And now it’s gone.

Dearest Dandy, thank you superlatively for your excellent email, I have replied but thought I should drop a little note swathed in the scent of lillies here just in case some interweb eagle has swooped down and carried it away to who knows where!
Fond wishes and much admiration, George
