Thank heavens!! He arrives whole… The Perfumed Dandy returns

Dearest Friends,

“Well almost”, would seem the best the best caveat.

After two weeks of removal men, painting and decorating and endless unpacking, unpacking and even more unpacking The Perfumed Dandy is firmly ensconced in his new home.

And I am pleased to say I am more or less in one piece: a broken lamp or two, a cracked glass and a lost print excepted I am whole and the perfumes are all perfectly well: scents splendidly at home in their new surroundings.

But for The Dandy to be truly whole again the words must flow, and so they will once more with fresh reviews, an interview and a new guest writer over the weeks ahead… along with the return of The Hit Parade at the beginning of October.

Thank you all for your generous words while I’ve been away… time to repay the milk of human kindness with a few words of my own!

To fragrant times ahoy!

Yours ever

The Perfumed Dandy.

  1. Dear Mr Dandy

Rumour has it your fragrance collection needed its own rooms, forcing you you to change mansions. I hate to spread rumours but what else can one do with them?

Your unique voice has been much missed and I am glad you are back, taking your rightful place in the fragrant firmament.

Incidentally I ma wearing Arpege today. It’s divine.

It is so good to be back!
Indeed the scents have staked their claim to quite a bit of space and have a suitable number of shelves (discretion precludes me from revealing how many) in a rather delightful 1930s fitted wardrobe… they truly do look like fine fragrances.
Speaking of which, Arpege… what a beautiful but determined young thing she is.
      Yours ever

    Dear Mr. Dandy,

Welcome back! You and your lovely writing were sorely missed.

  9. Cheryl

So glad the move is sorted, and you’re back!
“I look forward to sharing plenty more words over the weeks and months to come!”…YES, and many thanks!

  10. Alice

Oh it’s so lovely to have you back! I was quite concerned for a while, fearing the move might have been more exhausting than you expected. Now I’m looking forward to lots more posts now that you are safely installed in your new home.

I like the Alice books too. Its actually my middle name, but I thought it a good choice for the boards as perfume lovers sometimes refer to the start of their obsession as ‘falling down the rabbit hole’….

    • Dearest Alice
Yes, white rabbits, Queens of Hearts and giant caterpillars attached to hookahs are all images that seem to fit the world of perfumery just perfectly.

The move was indeed a little more arduous than intended, but then aren’t such things always more of a chore than they’re meant to be… such things are sent to test us!
