Dearest All
In the midst of all this maternal mirth, it would seem churlish for The Dandy not to suspend normal service – like all the rest of the media – and turn to the matter of…
George Alexander Louis, HRH Prince George of Cambridge
Others may worry about the trivialities of child rearing, I am concerned with matters of import: specifically what fragrance the, no doubt, fine fellow should wear.
Now, apart from the obvious above I am a long term fan of this rather superior Spanish splash…
Almost too incredibly clean and refreshing to be reserved for infants, though in this royal case I shall make an exception.
So friends, what scents would you suggest for our new Prince?
I’d love to hear….
Fear not, normal service will be resumed tomorrow, and give yourselves all a extra vote on The Hit Parade to celebrate the birth!!
Yours ever
The Perfumed Dandy.
It should be something custom-made for the occasion by Floris, no?
Dearest Biscuit
Why, how right you are!
Or indeed one of the other parfumeurs or suppliers of soaps, toiletries, scents and fancywares to the Royal Household.
What should it be called though…
*Gorgeous George*?

The Perfumed Dandy
Gorgeous George makes me think of Curious George, which makes me think of a someone in college who used to call that monkey Bi-Curious George 🙂
Dearest Biscuit
Tee hee.
That almost made The Dandy choke on his sherry.
I shall never look at the young royal the same way again.

How about Revolution – Eau de Parfum? It may be liberating for him to consider options! Poor little thing, thrust into the media glare the minute he’s out of the womb. Failing that, Johnson’s Baby Bath Oil – keep it classic!
Dearest Nena
An interesting suggestion… of course he has quite a long way to go before the throne is in his sights…

Poor little baby, just in the world a couple of days and all that light flashing in his sweet little eyes. I think he would like somebody to shut the light off so he can go back to sleep. I suppose he’d better get used to it early. I imagine he smells delicious as is. But maybe a gentle rose scent created just for him (and in memory of his grandmother, Diana). I’m sure he has inherited great natural charm. Li’l Georgie Porgeie. ♥
Dearest Lily
Yes. Rose cologne does smell rather lovely on babies, I’m not sure why the note isn’t used more in the various creams and potions that we’re encouraged to apply to the little creatures.
And yes, let’s hop he has inherited looks, charm and longevity from various members of his family!

May I suggest Baby Magic Baby Lotion’s Original Scent?
To me, this is what babies smell like-
How can you not fall in love again and again?
Dear Ann
Welcome to The Dandy’s and for the suggestion.. I am searching for this one on line just as we speak!

I say bath HRH Prince George in Juniper Sling!
Dearest M. Lanier
I shall, being a loyal subject, of course refrain from any comment to the effect of all the royals being practically bathed in gin!

I have a suggestion! The prince should wear a perfume that will be created approximately in 2025 😉
Dearest U
Does The Dandy get the impression that you disapprove of the perfuming of babies?
Perhaps you’re right… but their natural odours are so often quite unpleasant!

The Perfumed Dandy
Dearest Dandy, you’ve got the hint: I do think that any creatures – be that babies or pets – should not wear any perfumes until they get to choose if they actually want to wear any and if yes, which ones.
As to the unpleasant odors from babies… If it’s a healthy baby all you need to do to get read of it is to change them or baith (or both) – and definitely not to mask those odors. And if it’s a sick baby, scenting, once again, isn’t a viable solution 😉
Dearest U
I think you may have a very good point… if not several.
The most important being that a Prince should have the right to choose his own scent!

The Perfumed Dandy
My choice is probably a bit uninspired: “Le petite Prince” – a very nice mandarin and lemon verbena scent or maybe Nicolai’s “Petit Ange”.
Since it has been proven by the Dandy himself that men can pull of florals quite easily it is certainly possible for a baby prince to wear some lilac.
Dearest Miss Misty
Babies and lilac… now that it is a splendid idea. Imperial Purple Perfume no less!
Though I’m actually very smitten with verbena too. In fact I rather like baby cologne myself, especially in hot weather and for linens.
